Unio Mystica
Unio Mystica (according to Odo Marquard, the etymological root of the German word "Einsamkeit") is a 7-track experimental ambient EP by content.creator
The tracks were created as part of the artist's exploration of the feeling of loneliness. The creative process began with painting: the artist mentally revisited moments of profound loneliness and expressed these experiences through abstract expressionist works in oil pastels. Over time, a recurring symbol emerged—the imagery of submersion (in the sea or in liquid).
The physical and emotional isolation from the outside world can lead to either loneliness or solitude. This duality is portrayed across the tracks as a journey through these contrasting emotions. The EP reflects this journey visually as well, with the album cover and typography reinforcing the themes.
"Sinking into the water, you let go. The surface glimmers faintly above, rippling with distorted sunlight. The deeper you sink, the quieter it gets. Small air bubbles cling to your skin, trembling like fragile companions before rising and leaving you behind. Shadows thicken into impenetrable, cold darkness. Surrounded by the dense, unyielding medium, the pressure mounts, crushing from all directions. Panic floods your mind. You push against its weight, but every ounce of your strength is drained away. Unforeseen currents pull you through unknown depths. You stop. You release. A profound stillness takes hold. The water no longer feels like your enemy. Fear softens into acceptance. Boundaries dissolve, leaving you in a state of serene clarity. The floating begins."
