HORCH
Music streaming services are convenient and fun. However, the sheer volume of music and the interface can lead to superficial consumption. The process from passionate listening to addictive consumption is gradual. Listeners need to be aware of the influence of digital media in order to make a free choice.
The idea is to give the audience a deeper musical experience that shows them what they are trading for comfort and entertainment. Also provide an incentive to buy music on physical media again.
HORCH is a performance in which wax records are destroyed by a heat lamp as they are played. The records contain recordings of live performances played directly onto the wax records by artists in the studio. Each record is therefore unique and cannot be reproduced.
